All my partnerships bring mutual, focused attention to how visual communication is conceived and functions. I've worked for a range of clients over the years, from publishing houses and magazines to corporate and institutional markets.
UNCOMMISSIONED
drawings + paintings
I learn about the mechanics of meaning through painting and drawing. Most recently, I've focused on a series of 35 drawings of a literary masterpiece, Dante's Inferno. Images and writing about the project are included in my blog.

I've been teaching visual communication for quite a few years, and I write and lecture regularly on illustration, art and design, both at RISD and as a visiting artist at other institutions. I am available for consultation, published writing and public talks.
